Stars and Wishes

In my classroom we use the terms "stars" and "wishes" all the time! "Stars" are things we like and "wishes" are things we would like to improve upon. I created this exit slip for my students to easily evaluate where they stand on a particular subject.  I would love to hear how you use exit slips like this one in your classroom!  Click the image to grab this exit slip for FREE from my Teachers Pay Teacher's Store! :)

The 3AM Teacher

Professionally Developed!

I attended a great PD today!  The presenter was Tina Boogren from the Marzano Research Laboratory.  She was great...very engaging and full of strategies and ideas I can implement in my classroom tomorrow! :)  She gave us a resource I just have to share with you because it's all FREE!  And what teacher doesn't like FREE STUFF?!  Seriously! :)  SO...check out the free resources section on the Marzano Research Laboratory website.  My favorites are the Classroom Tools...specifically the games!  Can't wait to play some of those vocabulary games tomorrow!  So fun!

I'd love to hear what games you play with your students!  Share, share!

Comparing Fractions!

We have been working hard with fractions!  My students are getting really good at finding equivalent fractions and comparing fractions.  I found a Fraction Spinner Freebie on Laura Candler's blog, Corkboard Connections.  Laura Candler is such a talented educator and I love her freebies!!  This one I'm using today during enrichment centers to reinforce comparing fractions.  I created a printable for my students to compare.  You can download it for free at my Teachers Pay Teachers store!  Click the image to grab your freebie!

Little About Me :)

I love blogs!  For several years I have maintained our 4th grade blog at school.  This is a group effort, providing our parents with news and information in a quick way.  I have secretly wanted to have my own teaching blog space, but I wasn't sure how to go about separating myself.  SO I created my own blog, too...and you're reading my second official post right now!  I have been visiting Fourth Grade Frolics often (found her on Pinterest) and have been inspired to start blogging about our classroom and my teaching life, as she does.

You see, I'm not new to blogging really.  I have my own little side scrapbooking business Stamp*Crop*Create and have been blogging and posting artwork there for about five years.  I also have a family blog to keep our family in the loop.  And now it's time for me to blog about my teaching.  Because...why not?  :)

Time to Share!

I love teaching and I love blogs!  I have borrowed so many ideas from blogs for my classroom...I thought it was about time I jumped in and created a blog to share my resources with you!  It's a work in progress, so leave me a comment and let me know what you'd like to see! :)
